Well I’m Vicki, and its very nice to meet you. I’m a designer and I earn my breakfast designing logos and making things look pretty on the internet. I really love my job, but sometimes I spend way too much time in front of my computer.
I started this blog in my 40th year to motivate myself to get out and enjoy the real world a bit more. I’d heard whispers of amazing creative things that were beyond the four corners of my Mac, and I figured I’d check a few out! I’m mostly accompanied by my dog, my bike, my camera and my sketch book.
Hell I did say something about it being my 40th year! But nah hear me out… I’m not taking a sebatical and going backpacking round Thailand or anything. Mostly this will be in the UK, more often than not in the South East where I live. Very possibly it will just be what I can pull together in a lunch break between scoffing a couple sandwiches and a cup of tea. I haven’t bought a super fast motorbike or anything – I have a bog standard entry level mountain bike, and I’d say I’m averagely fit. I like to think that anyone could do the routes I choose, but I’ll warn you if at any point I thought I was going have a cardiac arrest while trying them out. I certainly haven’t suddenly found Buddha or anything either – I won’t shove inspirational quotes down your throat or preach the long term gut benefits of the cabbage diet.
If you’ve followed one of my walks, bike rides or visited a curious place, I would love to know what you thought. Or perhaps you know of somewhere you think I might like, and would like to see it recorded here? Either way I’d love to hear from you, so please sign up for my newsletter, follow me on social media, or drop me a line on the form below, or at the bottom of any of the posts.
